The Georgia football team began preparations for its third game of the season with a one-hour practice on Monday.

Georgia will entertain non-conference foe Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sanford Stadium.

The Dawgs are 0-2 after losses to Boise State and South Carolina, which are Nos. 4 and 12, respectively, in this week’s Associated Press Top 25. The Chanticleers are 2-0 with victories over Furman and Catawba.

I’m not worried about Saturday right now, coach Mark Richt said. I’m worried about how they perform in practice Tuesday. We really improved from Week 1 to Week 2, and it was because of how we practiced. And I’m expecting the same this week.

Richt put the Dawgs through their typical Monday paces.

We don’t do a whole lot on Mondays from a physical nature, Richt said. It’s 50 minutes, it’s in shorts. We spend half the time on our kicking game and half the time working on offense and defense. We do get a good lift in and we get some good running in to get the lactic acid out. We cover, in our meetings, the last ball game and begin to install for the game this week.

Richt said the captains for the Coastal Carolina game will be center Ben Jones and fullback Bruce Figgins on offense, cornerback Brandon Boykin on defense, and tight end Orson Charles on special teams.

Georgia’s game at Ole Miss on September 24th is set for a 12:21 p.m. kickoff and will be shown on the SEC Network, according to an announcement by the conference.

Saturday’s game with Coastal Carolina will be televised on a pay-per-view basis. Cable and satellite systems in both Georgia and South Carolina will be offered the telecast with an individual subscription price of $34.95. Commercial establishments may purchase the game for $400. Per SEC regulations, fans in Georgia and South Carolina also will be able to access the broadcast online at georgiadogs.com for the same price as the televised game. All production of the game will be handled by CSS with the broadcast team of Bob Neal (play by play) and Buck Belue (color analyst) describing the action. Georgia fans are encouraged to check with their local cable and satellite system providers for further information.
