Georgia ambushed Auburn, 8-2

Georgia Bulldogs destroyed the Auburn Tigers 45-7 in Athens. After South Carolina beat Florida earlier in the day; the Bulldogs had to do their business in winning their game. Georgia Bulldogs are 8-2, 6-1 in conference play. Georgia does control their own destiny. If the Bulldogs beat Kentucky next Saturday, the East division is theirs.

In the 1st quarter, Georgia and Auburn swapped touchdowns. Georgia got on the board first. Aaron Murray threw an 8 yard touchdown pass to Tavarres King to make it 7-0. Auburn came back down the field, they also got a touchdown. C.J Uzomah threw a 4 yard touchdown pass to Phillip Lutzenkirchen to tie the game. Georgia came back down the field again and got another touchdown. Aaron Murray threw a 27 yard touchdown pass to Michael Bennett. Georgia now leads 14-7. Auburn would not score again in the game.

In the 2nd quarter, Georgia scored 21 points. Auburn’s running back Onterio McCalebb fumbled the ball and Georgia recovered. Then 6 plays later; Aaron Murray threw a 15 yard touchdown pass to Bruce Figgins. Georgia got another touchdown by Bacarri Rambo’s interception for returned touchdown. Georgia now leads 28-7. It wasn’t over for the Bulldogs. Later in the 2nd quarter, Aaron Murray found Malcolm Mitchell for another touchdown. Malcolm Mitchell scored a 25 yard touchdown pass. When Bacarri Rambo intercepted Clint Moseley’s pass, he returned it for 24 yards.

In the 3rd quarter, Georgia got 3 points from Brandon Bogotay 26 yard field goal. In the 4th quarter, Georgia tacked on 7 more points. Running back Isaiah Crowell scored a 9 yard touchdown run to make it 45-7. Isaiah Crowell fumbled the ball 2 times, but luckily it didn’t hurt Georgia that much.

Aaron Murray had a great day, he was 14/18 with 224 and threw 4 touchdown passes. Aaron Murray threw ZERO interceptions today. Running backs Carlton Thomas and Isaiah Crowell had a big day as well. Carlton Thomas had 127 yards of rushing and Isaiah Crowell had 132 yards rushing. On the receiving end, Malcolm Mitchell had 1 touchdown and had 3 receptions for 85 yards. Michael Bennett had 1 touchdown and had 5 receptions for 50 yards. Auburn with their lost, they are now 6-4, 4-3 in conference play. Clint Mosley was 11/22 with 140 yards and had 1 touchdown. He also threw an interception. No one from Auburn had a 100 yard rushing. Michael Dyer had 48 yards of rushing on 13 carries. Emory Blake had a 100 yard receiving. Emory Blake had 6 receptions for 101 yards.

Georgia NEEDS to beat Kentucky next week in order to win the East division. Next week’s game will be Georgia’s final home game of the season. Its been 6 seasons since Georgia last played in the SEC Championship game. That year Georgia beat LSU for the SEC Championship.
