Upcoming game: Georgia vs Georgia Tech

This Saturday the Georgia Bulldogs will square off against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Bobby Dodd Stadium. These two teams have been playing against each other since 1893. Georgia Bulldogs beat Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets last season in Athens. Georgia is 9-2,7-1 in conference play. Georgia Tech is 8-3,5-3 in conference play. Georgia Tech is in third place in the Coastal Division in the ACC conference. Georgia who won the East division last Saturday by beating Kentucky, will play this game for pride.

Georgia Tech is coming off a win at Duke last weekend. Georgia Tech runs a Triple Option Offense that most defenses can’t stop. Georgia Tech’s quarterback Tevin Washington has played pretty well this year. He has thrown for 1481 yards with 10 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He mainly runs and hands the ball to his running backs. Running back Roddy Jones who is a Junior has been with Georgia Tech for the last 3 seasons. Roddy Jones has rushed for 366 yards on 41 carries and has 3 touchdowns. He averages 8.9 yards per carry. This Yellow Jackets offense can be explosive if the defense doesn’t stop Roddy Jones or Tevin Washington. Stephen Hill who is the Yellow Jackets wide receiver, also been making great offensive plays. Stephen Hill has 23 receptions for 707 yards with 4 touchdowns. He averages 30.7 yards per catch. If Georgia can’t stop Stephen Hill or Roddy Jones, it will be a long day for Georgia.

Georgia’s quarterback Aaron Murray has 28 touchdowns with2446 passing yards and 9 interceptions. Aaron’s passing percentage is 60.6. If Isaiah Crowell doesn’t play this week, Brandon Harton will start for Georgia. Brandon Harton in 4 games has 247 rushing yards with1 touchdown. Brandon Harton had a 100 yard rushing game last week against Kentucky. That is Brandon’s first career 100 yard rushing as a Bulldog. On the receiving end, Malcolm Mitchell has had a great season. Malcolm Mitchell has 32 receptions with 549 reception yards and has 4 touchdowns. Georgia will go to Malcolm if the game is on the line.

So the question is, who is going to come out and strike first? Both teams know each other pretty well. This will be an exciting game, both schools are shooting for a 10 win season. This game is known as “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate”. This game starts at noon on ESPN.
