Georgia men keep winning streak going vs Furman

By Brent Zell

The Georgia men’s basketball team takes a three-game winning streak into Christmas weekend with its 64-50 win over Furman Friday in Athens.

The Bulldogs (7-5) broke open a 9-all game with a 9-0 run. As it was all night, defense was the key during the run. Georgia forced two Furman turnovers in that span. In the
second half, Furman’s Jordan Loyd hit a 3-pointer to make it 43-36, but Georgia responded with 9-2 run to push the advantage into double digits. The Paladins never got closer than 11 points the rest of the game.

The Dawgs held Furman under 40 percent shooting on the night.

Ken Pope-Caldwell led Georgia with 17 points.

Georgia hosts Winthrop on Tuesday.
