Georgia’s swimmers concluded action in the Bulldog Last Chance Meet on Sunday at Gabrielsen Natatorium.
The NCAA Championships will be held later this month in Indianapolis, and the Last Chance Meet affords swimmers a chance to post times that are automatic (A cuts) or provisional (B cuts) for the NCAAs. The women’s field will be announced later this week, with the men’s field following a week later.
Courtney Peters likely made the women’s meet as she posted a B-cut time of 54.41 in the prelims of the 100-yard butterfly on Sunday. During Saturday’s session, Peters recorded a B-cut time of 1:56.74 in the 200-yard butterfly. Also Sunday, Olivia Boggs went 2:12.72 in the prelims of the 200-yard breaststroke to lower her B-cut time.
Improving B cuts on Sunday for the men were Yousef Alaskari in the 200-yard butterfly (1:47.06), Ediz Yildirimer in the 1,650-yard freestyle (15:04.48) and Garrett Powell in the 1,650-yard freestyle (14:59.36).
