Senior Kate Fuller and sophomore Silvia Garcia were named to the 2013 ITA Collegiate All-Star Team, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced Friday.
The Bulldog All-American duo finished the season ranked No. 2 in doubles after going 26-4 and advancing to the NCAA quarterfinals. The duo tallied 10 wins against Top-25 opponents, five of which were against Top-10 opponents.
Featuring 20 of the nation’s top student-athletes from tennis programs across the nation, the ITA All-Star Team was inaugurated in 1984. It features the nation’s top-ranked men’s and women’s players from the year-end ITA College Tennis Rankings at the NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and JUCO levels, as well as winners of the 2012 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships and 2013 NCAA Division I Championships.
The 2013 ITA Collegiate All-Star Team awards presentation will take place at the ITA Awards Luncheon hosted by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) during Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day, immediately before the start of the US Open.
