The Georgia Bulldogs loss to Clemson Saturday night is magnified by the loss of wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell for the remainder of the year with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Mitchell suffered the injury as he jumped into the air and landed awkwardly while celebrating the 75 yard touchdown run by teammate Todd Gurley early in the first quarter.

Mitchell had surgery on the same knee to repair a torn meniscus on March 30th of this year, he recovered in time to have an outstanding fall camp and was the starting flanker when the Dawgs took the field for the first time in Death Valley.

Mitchell is a true junior and will be eligible to take a redshirt this year, giving him two years of eligibility remaining at Georgia.
