Georgia Football: Murray Named Maxwell Award Player Of The Week

Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray led the Dawgs to a 41-30 win over Southeastern Conference rival #6 ranked South Carolina last Saturday in Athens. Georgia was in an early season “must win” situation as they attempted to bounce back from a heartbreaking season opening loss to Clemson. Murray and the Georgia offense answered the call against a talented Gamecock defense.
Murray a 6’1, 208lb senior from Tampa Florida was 17 of 23 passing for 309 yards and 4 touchdowns. His quarterback rating was 244.16. He led the Georgia offense to 536 total yards and a 10 minute time of possession advantage. Murray appears on the Maxwell Award watch list for the 4th consecutive season and is a key performer for Georgia as they continue their rugged SEC schedule this fall. His outstanding performance has earned him the Maxwell Award Player of the Week.
