Fran Tarkenton

Tarkenton is a name that not only every UGA fans knows, but practically every football fan as well. The All-American Tarkenton led Georgia to the 1959 Southeastern Conference title on a last-minute touchdown pass that defeated Auburn. He went on to a legendary career in the NFL, leading the Minnesota Vikings to three Super Bowl appearances. Tarkenton was inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 1977, the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986, and the College Football Hall of Fame in 1987.
