Two from Georgia Track & Field Named Capital One Academic AA
The Georgia track & field team continues their amazing season, as UGA boasts two representatives on the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America Division I Men’s and Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Lucie Ondraschkova, who graduated from UGA in spring 2014 and has started her finance career in New York City, is a Second Team Academic All-American and was one of four competitors from the Southeastern Conference on either the First or Second Team Academic All-America squads. Ondraschkova was a Third Team choice in 2013.
Junior Brandon Lord is a Third Team Academic All-American. The Chattanooga, Tenn., native is one of only three SEC student-athletes named on one of the three men’s Academic All-America teams. Lord garnered SEC Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year honors earlier this year.
Georgia is one of only three SEC teams to have one representative on both a men’s and women’s team and one of only five teams from the league who had a member selected.
Ondraschkova, an Opava, Czech Republic, native is a four-time U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic individual and was a member of the UGA Leadership Academy and Blue Key honor society. She received the Excellence in Finance award and was a Presidential Scholar on the Dean’s List.
The 2013 USTFCCCA South Region Women’s Field Athlete of the Year was a three-time First Team All-American in the pentathlon/heptathlon. Ondraschkova advanced to the NCAA Championships in five consecutive years and scored at seven SEC meets.
Lord is a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic individual and a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. The Presidential Scholar has been on the Dean’s List and on the Athletic Director Honor Roll. Lord helped lead the Bulldogs to a school record three NCAA Cross Country Championships in a row, which included Georgia’s first NCAA South Regional team title run in 2013. He scored in all six of his 2013 cross meets, including winning the Georgia Cross Country Invitational. Lord is No. 2 on Georgia’s all-time top-10 list in the 10,000 meters with a 2014 time of 29:10.87 and he advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the event.
To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, and have reached at least sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution.
