Pregame eats at The Varsity
OK, this one might be a little cliche, but for an out-of-towner, a stop at the Varsity (or greasy V as it’s sometimes known by the locals) is a must.
It’s all about the “been there, done it” factor for the Varsity.
The food isn’t horrible, but for the most part it’s nothing special. Hot dogs and hamburgers, topped with anything you can imagine from chili to cole slaw and everything in between. Chicken sandwiches, fried pies and french fries of course adorn the menu as well.
But, if for nothing else, you need to pull in to the Varsity for an F.O. and some uhnyun rangs.
The F.O. (short for frosted orange) is basically like drinking a Cremesicle bar, and once the brain-freeze wears off, you’ll be wanting more of this frozen treat. The uhnyun rangs (that’s onion rings to you foreigners) are some of the best you’ll ever have. Grab plenty of napkins though.
