SEC Power Rankings: Eastern Division receivers and tight ends
By Brad Hodnett
No. 7 – Vanderbilt Commodores
In Jordan Matthews, Jonathan Krause, and Wesley Tate, Vanderbilt lost a lot of it’s team’s receptions from the 2013 campaign. Add that to an exit by offensive mastermind and head coach James Franklin, as well as a solid starting quarterback and there are more than a couple of question marks for the receiving group in the land of “Anchor Down”.
The Commodores have some veterans at the tight end position, but the wideouts are a very youthful bunch. Sophomore Jordan Cunningham is the leader in returning receptions with 15 grabs last season. He along with tight end Steven Scheu lead a crew of mostly freshmen and sophomores into a most difficult SEC schedule with a new quarterback and a new head coach. With that much change, it may be “Anchor Down” for Vandy’s offense in a transitional year.
