 No. 6 – Kentucky Wildcats

As Mark Stoops heads into his second year at Kentucky, he upped the ante with a solid Top 25 recruiting class last year. Included in that class, were four receivers who may get a chance to show their stuff somewhat quickly as the year goes along.

Kentucky’s youthful receivers will be some the highest ranking players at the position on the team.  They will have to wait their turn behind a former junior college transfer and leading receiver from last, season, Javess Blue. Kentucky may look to youth, such as Thaddeus Snodgrass and T.V. Williams, to throw the ball more vertically, as last year the Wildcats averaged less than 7 yards per attempt on throwing downs.

Sophomores Jeff Badet and Ryan Timmons should be counted on to build on solid freshman seasons as well.   I expect Stoops, though, to rely on his defense to keep games close and try to stretch the field more with some of his youth at the wide receiver position.
