September 19, 1981: Clemson Plays Spoiler

The tables turned in 1981 when Clemson again visited Georgia. This time, UGA was ranked No. 4, and the unranked Clemson Tigers went on to give the Dawgs their only loss of the season, 13-3. The highlight for Clemson was a key fumble by the Bulldog great Herschel Walker.

Clemson remained undefeated and went on to win the national championship, and Georgia went into the bowl game behind them at No. 2. I won’t mention what happened in the bowl game that year, but lets just say that it was the pits!
