September 19, 1987: Clemson Kicks, Part 2

Fate repeated the next year for David Treadwell as Clemson overcame strong running games from UGA’s dynamic duo of Lars Tate and Rodney Hampton. Georgia came to Death Valley as the underdog, ranked No. 18 while Clemson was at No. 8. Just as he did the year before, Danny Ford called the timeout and sent Treadwell out for the game-winning kick to put Clemson ahead for good, 21-20. This was also the last year that the annual rivalry game took place.
