I will apologize for this week’s Dawg Tweets being late. As many of our readers know, I was in Athens at the Georgia Bulldogs game last night and had to spend most of the day recovering and getting back to Nashville.

But, better late than never, and since Georgia has an open date this Saturday, we’ll have plenty of time for the next batch.
This Dawg Tweets is our first since the season began so I will be including many game tweets from some of our current and former players along with some Georgia media. Enjoy!
What does Todd Gurley do when he is not being the best player in college football? He watches the Simpsons!
Just heard that Todd Gurley is a Simpsons fan. I knew I picked the right guy as the nation's best player.

I will definitely miss Todd Gurley when he goes to the NFL, but I am excited to see him go high and to a good team. According to this tweet that is exactly what will happen!
Talked to a couple of scouts last night who said that even with RBs not valued as high Todd Gurley is special enough to go in the top 10

A nice College Game Day Tweet about our boy Gurley
Todd Gurley became the 1st FBS player since UCLA’s Maurice Jones-Drew w/ at least 3 rushing TDs & a kick/punt return TD vs a ranked team.

Georgia got some love in the media (more shockingly, Kirk Herbstreit). IT FINALLY HAPPENED PEOPLE!
ICYMI: @KirkHerbstreit's top 4 teams after first college football Saturday:

1-Georgia
2-Florida State
3-Oklahoma
4-Texas A&M
Todd Gurley was all we wanted to talk about yesterday, but let’s not forget the other beast on that field…Nick Chubb!
#UGA freshman Nick Chubb had 4 carries for 70 yards and a TD. That averages to 17.5 yards a touch. pic.twitter.com/xG4iVdv5QL
— Radi Nabulsi (@RadiNabulsi) August 31, 2014
Oh and let’s not forget that amazing defense that we met in the second half!
#UGA defense had 5 sacks for -38 yards and 9 tackles for loss, for -45 yards.

I agree with Coach Bobo on this. The crowd was insane yesterday and I think any and all recruits there saw exactly what bulldog nation was about.
Great crowd tonight!!

Watts Dantzler brags on his teammate a bit.
Just in case anyone was wondering, Todd Gurley is that dude.

Former Bulldog and winner of The Bachelorette, Josh Murray takes to twitter to give his opinion on our offense.
Keep RUNNING the ball Georgia, got some studs back there, that's the ticket! #GoDawgs

Christian Robinson suffers injury due to explosive offensive play by Nick Chubbs…well sort of…
Coach Ek LITERALLY almost fell out the box on Nick Chubbs TD and I'm going to see Ron Courson for the bruise he left celebrating #DawgsOnTop

We certainly miss having “The Woot” playing between the hedges, but he is still showing how much he loves his former team via twitter.
Proud of my boys man!!! #GoDawgs
— Rantavious Wooten (@TheWoot_) August 31, 2014
After Aaron Murray finds out that he is officially a Chief he takes to twitter to cheer on the team he loves the most.
How bout them Dawgs!!!!!!!!
— Aaron Murray (@aaronmurray11) August 31, 2014
Ok let’s get back to some Todd Gurley praise.
The fact that Todd Gurley alone has more yards that all of Clemson combined #Gurley4Heisman pic.twitter.com/Udu2M3yiCf
— Zach Gaubert (@Z_Gaubert) August 31, 2014
College Gameday may be on to something here. I know I wrote a piece about how it does not matter if Todd Gurley will win the Heisman, but that does not mean I do not want him to. To be clear I am totally for Gurley getting the Heisman.
Why is #Gurley4Heisman trending? The Georgia RB has 15 car, 198 yds, 3 TDs and a 100 yd KO return TD. #CLEMvsUGA
— College GameDay (@CollegeGameDay) August 31, 2014
Former Georgia Bulldog, Marlon Brown, also a huge fan of number 3.
Two words.. Todd Gurley
— Marlon Brown (@MB_uno4) August 31, 2014
That is funny because all of Dawg Nation is thinking the same thing!
I'm thinking @TG3II for Heisman this year! #DawgsOnTop
— Aaron Murray (@aaronmurray11) August 30, 2014
I will end with a tweet by ESPN. It is not typical for them to give Georgia any type of attention so this is special.
Todd Gurley is now the only player in UGA history with two career 100-yard kickoff return TDs. #beast
