Chip Towers of the Atlanta Journal – Constitution spoke to Chubb’s, mother, Lavelle Chubb, about his recovery and playing status. “He’s doing good; he’s just resting right now. They said they would see how he’s doing (Tuesday) before they make that decision. Possibly this week but they’re not really sure (how long he’ll be out).”

Tanya Sichynsky of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Chubb did not practice with the team that evening.

Despite being the only Bulldog to score from the tailback position besides Todd Gurley, Chris Conley expressed confidence in the Dawg’s rushing attack to Sichynsky. “Another one of our running backs would step up and play. We’ve got guys who can make plays all over the place other than Nick Chubb. We have Sony Michel, obviously Todd (Gurley), we have Keith Marshall who’s working back in. We also have Brendan Douglas and I am confident in each and every one of those guys’ running ability and their ability to get first downs and score touchdowns.”

Chubb injured his thumb in practice last week but was able to play with a wrap against South Carolina. Despite the injury Chubb rushed for 34 yards on four carries against the Gamecocks. Chubb has rushed for 104 yards on eight carries in Georgia’s only two games.
