Shooting Guard

Junior Kenny Gaines will start at shooting guard. Gaines is a speedy and athletic scorer that serves as the Dawg’s ace defender. While the 6’4” 200 pound Gaines built an early reputation with leaping and scoring in the paint, he led the SEC in three-point shooting at 45 percent during the 18 game conference schedule. During Georgia’s season ending drive for the SEC Tourney second seed, Gaines shot over 58 percent from behind the arc.

With the loss of Morris, Gaines will also take significant minutes at the small forward position.

Gaines is a former Parade Magazine All-American from Whitefield Academy in Atlanta. If Gaines took advantage of his off-season work, the Bulldogs could have an all-conference backcourt.
