Chubb split the honor with Florida Gators defensive back Jalen Tabor.
Relieving junior Todd Gurley — who was named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for the third time — Chubb rushed for a career-high 78 yards on eight carries (9.8 average) and scored a touchdown. He also caught two passes for 11 yards.
Chubb is Georgia’s second-leading rusher this season with 224 yards on 31 carries (7.2 average) and two touchdowns. He also has three catches for 31 yards and a touchdown so far in 2014.
This marks the fifth SEC weekly award this season for the Bulldogs. Junior tailback Todd Gurley has been named the Offensive Player of the Week twice (Clemson, Tennessee), senior inside linebacker Amarlo Herrera has been named the Defensive Player of the Week once (Clemson) and freshman tailback Sony Michel has also been named the Freshman Player of the Week (Troy).
The 5’ 11” 220 pound Chubb came to Georgia as a Rivals four star running back, choosing the Bulldogs over Alabama, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Stanford, Texas and others.
