Todd Gurley is Still a Crucial Piece of the Georgia Offense

Not taking anything away from Freshman Nick Chubb, who has done an exceptional job all season long, but this Georgia team needs Todd Gurley.

Chubb can get the job done when given the chance, but when he’s not able to, the Bulldogs need the added dimension that Gurley brings to the game. The constant threat of a home run hit every time he touches the ball looms over every defense Georgia faces, and when its a good defense like Florida, not having that gives them the upper hand.

Would Gurley have made the difference in this game? Who knows. Perhaps the missed field goal wouldn’t even have to have been a field goal attempt. Perhaps the dropped passes by Chubb and Brendan Douglas would have turned into huge gainers by Gurley. The Florida defense would have a totally different game plan.

Georgia’s backfield is good with Chubb and Douglas. It’s unreal with Gurley and company.
