When the Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets meet on the gridiron, there is usually a good story to tell.
“Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate” is the name given to the Georgia-Georgia Tech football rivalry dating back over 120 years.

I’m sorry but there’s nothing clean about it.
I’ll say it again and again, I hate Tech. My freshman, sophomore and junior years at the University of Georgia saw us lose to those Nerds. Fortunately, 2001 and Mark Richt came along and order was restored.
It’s now 2014. We have lost ONCE since Mark Richt took the helm. We really do run this state.
The great thing about rivalries like this with two teams filled with such acrimony and with so many years of history, is that it provides a stage for some very interesting moments. Plays that will stand out in the memories of fans for generations to come, and games that will haunt others for just as long.
This week, the Yellow Jackets will pay their biennial visit to Sanford Stadium, with a lot on the line for both teams, and the cries of “Nerds!” and “Rednecks!” coming from both sides are as loud as they’ve ever been.
Since it’s Tech-hate week for all the Bulldog Nation, let’s take the time to take a stroll down memory lane for some great recent moments from the past 14 years. These are in no particular order.
