No. 2: Chicago Bears

Nobody thought the Bears would be this bad in 2014, but bad they have been, and one of their major problems has been lack of production on the ground.

There may or may not be a coaching change in Chicago next season, and there may or may not be a new starting quarterback. But one thing the Bears will want to do is upgrade their running game, which sounds odd being as their top back is Matt Forte.

But Forte is 28 years old (ancient for NFL running backs these days) and he will be a free agent in 2016. This could be a way for the Bears to plan for a replacement in advance, as well as a good way to spell Forte or stand in for him when he is injured.

The Bears have been burned on first round running backs in the past, so they may be weary, and may also be looking more at the quarterback position, but if it came down to it and Gurley were sitting there, they might just grab him while they can.
