No. 8 – Arden Key, Defensive End

Arden Key is a 4-star defensive end out of Lithonia, Ga. (Hapeville Charter), who is rated as the No. 10 player in the state of Georgia, and the No. 5 weak-side defensive end in the nation according to 247 Sports composite rankings.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Key would be an ideal WDE to play in Pruitt’s system, possessing great length and speed. He had originally committed to South Carolina in June 2014, but backed off his commitment. Right now the Gamecocks still look like a slight frontrunner, but that could be changed.

Key has official visits coming up to both Auburn and Georgia, and has offers from 32 different schools, including pretty much every program in the SEC.  The Bulldogs are on his list of seven possible schools.

Likelihood of Commitment to Georgia – S.C. defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward has been after Key since his freshman year of high school, and the Gamecocks aren’t backing off. However, the poor season (particularly on defense) may keep Key cool on Carolina for now. Pruitt and the Bulldogs can make a big impression on Jan. 30 and steal this one away.
