By Krisi Cooper
The #TBT trend has finally hit Dawn of the Dawg. We will be throwing back every Thursday to your favorite play, player, coach, and/or year. Our first throwback is to a favorite among all Georgia fans – do-it-all everyman player, Hines Ward.

With four great years at Georgia, Ward managed to play tailback, quarterback, and receiver. When most people hear the name Hines Ward they associate him as the Super Bowl MVP receiver, but prior to being the most valuable player in the NFL, Mr. Ward was racking up 3,870 yards as a tailback, 413 yards in a single bowl game as a quarterback, and over 900 receiving yards at the University of Georgia.
The Georgia legend went on to become one of the greatest receivers in Pittsburgh Steelers history. His number 86 is no longer being given out in Steeltown as it will most likely be retired. With 1,000 receptions and over 12,000 yards it will probably not be long until Hines is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Ward doesn’t just win on the field either. He managed to snag the Mirror Ball Trophy on the show Dancing With The Stars, along with with partner Kym Johnson, and thanked Dawg nation for all their votes after winning.
A few years ago I asked former Coach, Ray Goff, if he watched his former player on the show and he admitted he had, but could not figure out how to text in his vote. (He also could not confirm if Hines had learned any of his dancing moves at UGA)
You can now see Hines, and his adorable smile, on NBC Sports.
Check back next week as we throwback again! Until then check out Hines doing the Samba!
