Roquan Smith, Outside Linebacker

City/School: Montezuma, Ga./Macon County H.S.
Rating: 4-star
Rankings: State – No. 5, Position – No. 5, National – No. 47
Status: Uncommitted
Top Choices: UCLA, Texas A&M, Michigan, Georgia

Of all Georgia’s top targets, Smith is one that Georgia’s staff probably has the least handle on what to expect. He’s recently paid two official visits to Michigan and one to Texas A&M, as well as receiving some coach’s visits from Georgia’s John Lilly, and Texas A&M’s Kevin Sumlin.

If he decides to come to Georgia, the 6’2, 205-pound Smith could be the next great Bulldog linebacker, following in the footsteps (so to speak) of the stellar group who has occupied that position for the last several seasons.

This one is tough to call, with him showing a lot of interest to all the schools on the top of his list. Georgia could use him, but Texas A&M needs him. And you shouldn’t underestimate the impact of Jim Harbaugh coming to Michigan when looking at his options.

It would be a nice surprise to land Smith, but don’t put this one on your “in the bag” list. If we had to guess, we’d say probably UCLA or Michigan.

Georgia’s Chances: 40%
