Who Will Step Up in the Wide Receiver Group?

Gone are top receivers Chris Conley and Michael Bennett, who were the security blankets for both Aaron Murray and Hutson Mason for a few seasons. So who will be the guy (or guys) to jump in and say “gimme the damn ball” this season?

It would be great to just pick the low-hanging fruit and say that Malcolm Mitchell will be that guy, but his history of injuries makes that a very tough call. Likewise with Justin Scott-Wesley, who has spent as much or more time on the sidelines injured or suspended as he has on the field.

Now much like last year’s running back group, the Bulldogs have some exciting and highly anticipated players joining the wide receiver group, including 5-star standout Terry Godwin. It may be that we see another rise of young Bulldogs, but in a different position.

Unfortunately we won’t get to see what Godwin, Jayson Stanley, Michael Chigbu and others will bring until the summer. So during the spring, it will be a fight among guys like Kenneth Towns, Reggie Davis and Blake Tibbs.
