No. 1: No they can’t – Because new quarterback, new center, new offense
The Bulldogs will, for the second straight season, have a new quarterback at the helm of the team. And unlike last season, when it was decided before Spring camp even started that Hutson Mason was going to be the next man up, we really have no idea who will be this year’s starting QB, and there are three candidates – Brice Ramsey, Faton Bauta and Jacob Park.
Besides having a new QB, there will also be a new center for the first time in four seasons. In fact, over the last seven years Georgia has only fielded two starting centers. Again, this is a position that’s up for grabs, and is far from solidified.
When you take a brand new quarterback and a brand new center, and install them both into a (relatively) new offense with a new offensive coordinator, growing pains have to be expected.
There may be some struggles early on, and there may even be some blown plays at crucial times late in the season just due to unfamiliarity. This is a mixture that could spell bad things for the Georgia offense this season.
