Free throw shooting: C+

The Bulldogs improved their free throw shooting as the year progressed, mainly on the strength of improvement by Marcus Thornton and Charles Mann. Also, the Bulldogs hit their free throws late in the second half to secure wins. And, since you don’t make 100% of the free throws you don’t take, it is important to note that Georgia ranked 16 among D1 schools in free throws attempted, resulting in a 21 rank in free throws made.

But percentage free throw success is a number that cannot be waived. Again, it’s basketball. The Dawgs began the season dreadful and worked their way up to average. Credit to the team – and especially Mann and Thornton – for picking up the free throw shooting percentage as the season progressed. But the Dawgs’ rank of 169 nationally is strictly average.
