Todd Gurley – Running Back

There’s only one question surrounding Todd Gurley in this year’s draft. Which team will take the perceived gamble on a guy who could be a game-changer if he can stay healthy?

Undoubtedly Gurley is the best running back in the draft this year, and probably one of the top five offensive players. But the ACL injury that ended his season against Auburn and will likely keep him out of most of this season in the NFL will keep him from being a Top 5 pick.

There will be a lot of talk swirling around about Gurley on draft day, and possibly even a trade involving a team wanting to grab him.

Likely Landing Spot: San Diego Chargers (1st Round, 17th pick)

The Chargers have had a serious need at running back for several seasons to take some pressure off Philip Rivers, and Gurley could be the guy who finally puts San Diego over the hump in the playoffs that they’ve struggled with.

There’s no doubt Gurley should go in the first round, and if it does, the Chargers will probably be the team to get him. There is a chance he slips to the second round depending on medical reports and how other backs fare in the first round.
