Hutson Mason – Quarterback

It’s unlikely that Mason will get that phone call on any of the draft days. More than likely he’ll be picked up as an undrafted free agent, if even that.

Mason isn’t going to end up starting for anyone in the NFL (at least not purposely), but he could make an able backup for a team very thin at the QB position. He’s going to carry that “game manager” label with him, and won’t wow anyone with his arm.

Several teams may look at him as a good practice squad QB.

Likely Landing Spot: Arizona Cardinals (UDFA)

Mason is the kind of guy Bruce Arians loves. An everyman player with no delusions about his role. The Cardinals go through quarterbacks like Jerry Jones goes through socks, so having a kid like Mason on the active roster learning the NFL position may be what both sides benefit from.
