Damian Swann – Cornerback

Swann had a redemption season in 2014, and likely has some good film highlights out there that scouts are looking at for this draft.

He’s got great instincts, and in the right system he could really flourish as a nickel corner and backup, at least early on in his career. His body size and lack of flash closing speed will inhibit him in NFL play, but he will absolutely be able to make a roster.

There are a lot of teams looking for depth at cornerback, and Swann has the ability to become part of a 2-deep roster on several NFL teams.

Likely Landing Spot: Pittsburgh Steelers (5th Round, 24th pick/160th overall)

The Steelers are going to be retooling a lot on defense, particularly in the secondary, where they finished 27th in the league in pass defense. Georgia seems to be a true pipeline to Pittsburgh, with many former Bulldogs being drafted by the Steelers.

Picking up Swann with a 5th round pick would be a nice move for Pittsburgh, and would reunite him with former teammate Jarvis Jones.
