Loss Number Two – No. 4 LSU

Final Score: 20-13
Georgia Record Coming In: 3-1
Reimagined Record Coming In: 4-0

The Tigers came into Athens ranked as the No. 4 team in the nation, and were boasting a pretty good defense that season. It was the fifth week of the season, and the Bulldogs had bounced back from their opening week loss with three straight wins.

Cox had put up some better than average numbers in those three wins, but didn’t get it done against LSU, going 18-for-34, 229 yards, two TDs and one INT, which was slightly less than an average game from Stafford.

The ground game was the big problem with LSU holding Georgia to just 45 total yards on the ground. Moreno had rumbled for 163 yards against LSU on the road in 2008, so even a good effort from him would have more than doubled Georgia’s ground game.

Having both players was absolutely worth more than seven points. Another win for Georgia 24-20
