Conclusion: 10-2 Regular Season

So the Bulldogs probably would have picked up three wins, which obviously would have been nice.

But a 2-loss conference record still wouldn’t have been enough to win the SEC East. The only way that would have happened is if Georgia had managed to beat the undefeated Gators, and win the head-to-head tiebreaker for the division crown.

A 10-2 season would have meant a much better bowl game than the Indpendence bowl, possibly even a BCS berth. But there would still be no rings, and Richt would still lack that national championship that’s missing from his resume.
