Are Mark Richt and Mark Fox Georgia’s Best Ever Coaching Duo?

Herman Stegeman (Football) and Herman Stegeman (Basketball) – 1920-1922

There’s no way you can talk about “coaching duos” at Georgia, and not include Herman Stegeman. The man whose name is now upon the Georgia basketball coliseum served as both football and basketball coach for three years during his tenure with the Bulldogs.

Not only did he coach both teams, but he did both fairly successfully, compiling a 20-6-3 record as football coach, and a 170-79 record as head basketball coach over 12 years.

Oh yeah, he also served as track & field coach and athletic director.

Eat your heart out, Bo Jackson.
