Harry Mehre (Football) and Rex Enright (Basketball) – 1931-1937

This is a duo of coaches that few discuss at Georgia, even though Mehre’s name is one half of the Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall in Athens.

While coaching the football team, Harry Mehre led the Dawgs to a 59-34-6 record and kept the winning tradition passed on by Stegeman and George C. Woodruff alive and well. Although there were no postseason berths or conference championships, Georgia will still considered a competitive program.

Enright was another two-way coach who also served as an assistant football coach during his time as Georgia’s head basketball coach. He compiled an 82-62 record in his career as a college basketball coach at both Georgia and South Carolina. The program was kept afloat, but never flourished under Enright.
