Vince Dooley (Football) and Hugh Durham (Basketball) – 1978-1988
For the ten years that both Dooley and Durham were on campus, the two premier Georgia athletic organizations had uncharted success. It was a time when being a fan of either the football or basketball team guaranteed you some national TV watching and postseason tickets.
Dooley guided the Bulldogs to six SEC championships, one national championship and a slew of awards while coaching the Dawgs on the gridiron, while Durham had recruiting success like never before in the basketball program and led the Bulldogs to their only Final Four in school history.
Truly the era of Dooley and Durham’s Dawgs was the greatest yet in school history, with that book still being written by its current coaches.
