Texas is the odds on favorite to receive Mack’s commitment. The third school believed to be in contention for Mack’s services is Kansas. However, Mack is planning a press conference, and you must have three hats, so how serious a contender Kansas is arguable.

On the other hand, everything is arguable. Information about Mack’s thoughts has been kept carefully under wraps and no one knows what he might decide.

The loss of Mack  (SF 6’7″, 215, Columbia, SC, Dreher High) to VCU in the fall agitated the Bulldog Nation. For months, recruiting analysts predicted the elite shooting guard was Georgia bound.

However, after Shaka Smart, who secured Mack’s signature in November, left VCU for Texas, Mack reopened his commitment. Austin immediately became the likely new destination. A visit to Athens swung speculation toward the Bulldogs, but Mack’s visit to Austin swung speculation back to Texas.
Mack is the number 9 small forward in 2015 by composite rankings.

The Bulldogs are also recruiting Arkansas – Little Rock graduate transfer James White. White is considering a number of schools including Alabama.
