Mississippi State: 7-5 (3-5)
Losses: @ Auburn, @ Texas A&M, @ Missouri, Alabama, @ Arkansas
Breakdown: For a few weeks last season, the Bulldogs were the crème de la crème of the college football world, until they lost to Alabama.

Maroon and White Nation
Up until that game, it seemed like the Cowbell Boys would just might be able to shock the world and win the SEC and make the playoffs. Dak Prescott was unstoppable, Bernadrick McKinney was destructive, and Josh Robinson was turning heads with his bowling ball-like play.
Now, Bernardick and Josh are gone, and the team that was so close to changing the college football landscape last year has once again been relegated to the backseat of the crowded SEC West station wagon. Mississippi State is gonna need a lot of Dak Magic if they’re gonna reach the heights they did last year, as they get no help from heir schedule, having to travel to Auburn, the 12th Man, Missouri, and Arkansas.
I fully believe that Mississippi State will go down to the wire with all of those teams, but in the end, their season is going to be described by the phrase, “close, but no cigar”.
