No. 5:  Zach Mettenberger

Year – 2010
Position – Quarterback
Why he’s a bust – Discipline/Dismissed

Richt thought he had his next great quarterback when the No. 1 pro-style QB in the nation, Zach Mettenberger, committed to Georgia’s 2010 class. Coming in with Aaron Murray, it was going to be a tremendous class, especially under center.

Unfortunately, Mettenberger was charged with sexual assault, and dodged a bevy of other possible charges at a bar in Valdosta, Ga., and was eventually dismissed from the Team by Richt. Georgia fans never even got to see him take a snap. He spent that year at Butler Community College before finally signing with LSU and becoming one of their best starting QBs in quite some time.

A little salt in the wound, if you will.
