Georgia golf’s wins the Grand Prix des Landes in overtime.

Georgia rising junior Harang Lee won the 65th Annual Grand Prix des Landes in dramatic fashion. Lee carded a final round 4-under 66 at Hossegor Golf Club in Soorts-Hossegor, France to finish tied atop the leaderboard. Lee defeated Alexandra Moisand of France in a playoff to claim the championship.

Lee, a native of Castro Uridales, Spain, entered the final round two shots off the pace of Elena Hualde Zuniga. Moisand shot a 67 on Sunday and both competitors ended up at 2-under 278, five shots ahead of the rest of the field.
Lee opened the 72-hole event with a 2-under 68 to for a share of the first-round lead with Hualde Zuniga. She posted successive 72s in the second and third rounds, slipping to third and then fourth in the process before rallying on Sunday.
Lee’s title is the third victory in a significant major event by Georgia women’s golfers this summer. Incoming freshman Rinko Mitsunaga won the inaugural U.S. Women’s Amateur 4-ball Championship in May and incoming freshman Bailey Tardy captured the 113th Annual North & South Amateur earlier this month.

Tardy also won a qualifying tournament for the U.S. Women’s Am at Laurel Springs Golf Club in Suwanee, Ga. Mitsunaga and former Bulldog All-American Emilie (Burger) Meason secured spots in the field for the Am at the same qualifier.
During the 2014-2015 school year, Lee was the only Georgia womens golfer to qualify for all 11 events in which a complete Georgia lineup competed. She compiled a 76.00 stroke average and contributed 89.2 percent counting rounds while finishing second on the team in birdies (57), par-or-better rounds (four) and top-20 individual finishes (five).
Lee came to Athens as one of Europe’s premier amateurs, one of six girls chosen to play in the 2012 Ryder Cup Junior Match and one of a dozen selected to participate in the 2013 Junior Solheim Cup.
