A true son or daughter of Georgia totally gets Monroe, Lousiana.

Monroe, is not only home to the ULM Warhawks. Monroe was home to the late to Joseph Biedenharn, the first bottler of Coca-Cola and co-owner of the company that became Delta Airlines.

Biedenharn’s daughter, Emy-Lou Biedenharn, who performed in Europe as a Wagnerian soprano in the years before World War II, established the local Biedenharn Museum and Gardens.

And if that’s not enough to make you wish for a return game in Monroe, Duck Commander, ground zero for the Duck Dynasty, is barely a mile and half away as the crow flies across the Quachita River and over West Monroe High School.

So dust off the duck calls and get the fat ladies ready to sing as we prepare to welcome the Warhawks to Athens.

Coach Berry’s Warhawks also play Alabama on September 26 and Georgia Southern on October 3. Coach Berry and Georgia Coach Mark Richt are well acquainted, and it’s a sure bet Richt will call Berry later in the year.

Last year: Last year the Warhawks went 4-8, losing five games by a touchdown or less, including a road game against Texas A&M.

Offense: Expect ULM to pass for 5 times the yardage that it runs for over the course of the season.

Defense: Expect ULM to be a national leader in sacks ad tackles for loss.

What Coach Richt says: They have knocked off a Power 5 team that they have had on their schedule the last three years in a row, so I am sure they will not be intimidated by walking into our place. –Georgiadogs.com
