Georgia Football: 2016 Schedule Released

Unlike this season, the Dawgs will find out quickly what type of team they are. Their opener in the Georgia Dome may seem like a home game, but the team has not played well in that stadium in recent history. Since a victory over Virginia Tech in 2006, the Dawgs are 0-3 at the Dome, including two losses in the SEC Championship game.
They also have to travel to Missouri in week three and the daunting state of Mississippi the week after. Should the Dawgs be 3-0 heading to Oxford, playing the tough Rebel defense will tell a ton about where the Bulldogs are headed for the rest of the 2016 campaign.
- October may be even tougher than September
Right after Georgia comes back from a physical contest against the Rebels, they turn their attention to Tennessee. This game will be redemption after losing Nick Chubb and a 21-point lead in this year’s contest.
The next week they travel to Columbia to play South Carolina where they have not played well in recent years regardless of the Gamecocks’ ranking heading into the matchup. Get by those two rivals and a potential trap game against Vandy, and the Dawgs give their undivided attention to perhaps their toughest game of the season in Jacksonville.
- If they take care of business, November could be a breeze

If the Dawgs somehow get through September and October undefeated or with only one loss, November seems like it could turn into a walk in the park. Their only road game is against Kentucky, which is reminded each year that they are a basketball school. Then, they finish with three consecutive home games, two of which come against rivals.
Should the Bulldogs finally put together a magical season where there are no letdown games against inferior opponents, they could be looking at a solid season with a great chance to make the College Football Playoff.
Every year their schedule sets up to give them all of the opportunities. Here are the undeniable keys to making the playoffs in 2016:
- They have to go 3-1 against Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
- They must beat Florida.
- They must have seven wins entering November.
- They have to play well at home in the final weekend.
- They must win the SEC title.
Let the predictions, analysis, and breakdowns commence. 2016 could be Georgia’s year.
