Georgia Football: Bauta to start against Gators
The Georgia football team will have a new man under center this weekend against the Gators.
Mark Richt has been known to shake some things up for the annual cocktail party in Jacksonville, but it is almost impossible to see this one coming.
According to Mike Huguenin of Gridironnow.com, the Bulldogs will start Faton Bauta at quarterback against Florida.

Is a third-stringer going to provide the much-needed spark the Dawgs are longing for? This is not 2007, and the team cannot parade around the end zone again.
The Bulldog-faithful know that Bauta was one of three ball-slingers in competition for the starting job prior to the season. Although it was a three-man race, Bauta always seemed to be on the outside looking in. Experts never stretched so far to think he would be dabbed the starter.
Now, it seems like he will get the last laugh. That is of course if he plays well. The move may seem a little less shocking the more the research comes to light.
Bauta is an experienced fourth-year junior who has played in a handful of games in his tenure in Athens. His dual-threat ability adds an element to the Georgia offense they have not seen since DJ Shockley was at the helm. This is perhaps the reason for the change.

The team always pulls out all of the stops against Florida. The Gators have been preparing the last two weeks to see Lambert, a pocket passer with limited running ability. Now, a day before the game, the Gators are scrambling to figure out how to attack Bauta.
Hopefully the Dawgs will bring in the read-option, which will open up the play action passing game. Just like the Gators a year ago who broke the Dawgs’ hearts with a backup quarterback, Georgia has the opportunity to catch those Gainesvillians off guard.
