Georgia Football: Sweet, Sweet Tiger Meat
The Georgia football team won its eighth contest over Auburn in the last 10 meetings after a 20-13 victory on the plains this past weekend.
There is nothing like a good, old-fashioned butt spanking delivered by the Dawgs on rival-Auburn to give you some extra motivation to get out of bed on a Monday morning.
Did I say butt spanking?
What I meant to say was “win.” Just plain “win.” How does that phrase go again?
“A win is a win is a win.”

Georgia has actually proved something this season they have failed to prove on a consistent basis in years past. They truly can play a brand of football that is not up to their potential and still muster out a win. Heck, their last three victories have all been dawned by this motto.
This week while attending your weekly cocktail party (or should I say venting session with your buddies considering cocktail parties on a Tuesday night seem excessive), I challenge you to not describe Georgia’s victory in this way: “well, we had a slow start but we picked it up in the second half.”
The reason I am asking for this is because I have come to the notion that the Dawgs will continue to have similar game results for the rest of their season. Thus, I have called for a petition to be brought to the state capitol.
For the remainder of the 2015 Georgia football season, I request the team not have to play the first half, thus calling the one half of play they will endure The Second Half.

It has to be some sort of mindset with these guys. First and second quarter must cause some tension in the player’s minds because they cannot do anything right on offense until crunch time.
But, enough blabber let’s get to the good parts.
The first thought that comes to my mind following the game is: Jeremy Pruitt please don’t go. The defense is playing out of their minds at the current moment and much credit has to be placed on Mr. Pruitt, who seems like an after thought. If the Dawgs’ defense would have been this dominant in 2012, we could be flashing championship rings around our fingers. Especially with the superior talent the team three years ago had compared to this team, their level of play under Pruitt could have been legend-WAIT FOR IT-dary.
This year while sitting around my Thanksgiving dinner table I shall utter the words, “I am thankful for Isaiah McKenzie and all that he does for my favorite team.”
McKenzie single-handedly broke the hearts of thousands wearing the gaudy blue and orange on Saturday. Maybe this wildcat offense with Godwin, McKenzie, and Michel is something to look forward to in the future.
When Georgia took the lead on his punt return score, the only thing the Auburn-faithful could do was pray for a block in the back. That was a prayed that went unanswered and in return they were handed their fifth loss of the season.
Now, the Dawgs sit at 7-3 with remaining games against Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech, followed by a bowl game. Could Georgia actually finish this tumultuous season with 10 wins? That would really take care of all the coaching change rumors, or at least one would hope.
With Southern being an inferior opponent and Tech having a whirlwind of issues, this may turn into a stepping stone season leading into the Eason-era in Athens. The one request I personally have though is to please not fire Pruitt. With a quarterback who can throw the ball down the field, the return of Nick Chubb next year, and a Pruitt-led defense Georgia could be in for a decade of top 10 finishes and a few national titles.
Please answer my prayer request.
