The Georgia football team is set to take on their in-state rival Georgia Tech for the 110th time in what is called “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate.”

Georgia (8-3) will look to win their fourth straight ballgame as they travel to Atlanta Saturday afternoon to take on Georgia Tech (3-8). There is no love lost between these two, especially after Tech broke the hearts of the Georgia-faithful last year in overtime in Athens. Judging by the way these two teams have played throughout the year, fans of this rivalry may be in for a third straight overtime game.
In what looked like a potential matchup of top ten teams at the beginning of the season now features two teams stumbling to the finish of the 2015 campaign. Tech has downright underachieved, and that is an understatement. After starting 2-0, they took a trip up to South Bend to take on Notre Dame. Many believed the Yellow Jackets would knock of the Irish, but they were overmatched and overplayed.

After the loss, Tech went on a five-game losing skid that told the tale of their season. A wild last-second victory over Florida State at home was a short-lived glimpse of hope that was soon demolished by a current three-game losing streak. Last Saturday’s 38-21 loss to an average Miami team was yet another example of Tech’s inefficiency on both sides of the ball.
Georgia, on the other hand, sports a solid record, but they do not pass the eye-test. Their lack of offensive production since Nick Chubb went down with a season-ending injury has been almost embarrassing. They were blown out in their only two matchups against ranked teams, and if it was not for the stellar play of their defense the team may only have four or five wins.

Georgia holds a 64-40-5 record all-time versus the Yellow Jackets and has held the series lead since 1965. Mark Richt has 12 wins in 14 tries against Tech, while Paul Johnson is a mere 2-5 against the Dawgs.
This is one of those games that every year you can throw out the records. Regardless of how talented either team is or is not, both teams want this one badly, especially if Tech could steal a victory in what has been an unimpressive season.
Kickoff is set for noon EST at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta.
