16 – Joel Parrish
Parrish was an outstanding athlete who was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Major League Baseball Draft out of high school, but he decided to play football at Georgia instead.
A product of Coffee County High School in Douglas, Georgia, Parrish was named an All-American in his senior season of 1976. At his left guard position he opened holes for Kevin McLee who racked up 1058 yards and six touchdowns in 1976 on a Georgia team that won the SEC title and appeared in the Sugar Bowl.
Parrish was drafted in the 11th round by the Cincinnati Bengals in 1977 and later played two seasons in the Canadian Football League.
