Very rarely does a highly touted high school prospect not only overachieve in college but also excel at the professional level. Meet A.J. Green
The most talented and fun to watch receiver in Georgia history has to be Green. In three seasons as a Bulldog, he collected first team All-SEC honors twice and led the conference in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in his freshman year in 2008.
It would be easy to say a receiver benefitted from having Matthew Stafford and Aaron Murray as their quarterbacks in college. But, in this case, those two UGA greats were the beneficial ones thanks to Green.
His final season in Athens he caught a career-high 57 balls even after missing the first four games of the season. He was selected fourth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft and has become one of the best players in professional football in recent years.
