Injury news on Tim Kimbrough turned from bad to ugly Monday evening.
According to the Associated Press, Kimbrough is suspended for the January 2nd TaxSlayer Bowl and could face future penalties once new head coach Kirby Smart takes over. Interim head coach Bryan McClendon did not release the details into his suspension. Also, backup running back Brendan Douglas’ wrist surgery will keep him out of the game as well.

Kimbrough is third on the team with 67 tackles, and has been an integral part to a dominant Bulldog defense. The junior reportedly had been sitting out of practice the past few days with an ongoing injury.
Stars Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins often overshadow him, but he has made a serious impact in Athens. He was named UGA’s Most Improved Player a season ago, and this season he was crowned with the Defensive Most Improved Player following spring football.
With the departure of defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, the loss of Kimbrough is just another setback for Georgia as they continue their downward spiral into postseason play.

Jenkins and Floyd will play their final game in Jacksonville bringing up the question as to how focused they will be as their sites may be on the NFL Draft. Freshman Natrez Patrick should pick up the majority of the load left behind by Kimbrough. Patrick, who was suspended for one game earlier in the season, has appeared in eight games in 2015 recording 18 tackles and one sack.
On offense, Sony Michel may be a one-man show with Douglas out. The Dawgs also will look to Terry Godwin to provide some carries on the ground, but he will still be needed in the passing game.
