Georgia released the football team’s Spring practice schedule earlier today, and the countdown has officially begun to the inaugural season of Kirby Smart and his newly minted staff.
Practices will begin the week after the University’s spring break, which will last from March 7-11 this year, and conclude with the G-Day game on April 16. The team will have 14 practices during this time frame along with their regular strength and conditioning.

After an eventful off-season that included the dismissal of Coach Mark Richt and the almost-immediate hiring of Coach Kirby Smart, players and fans should be looking forward to this somewhat familiar territory.
The G-Day game will give fans their first glimpse at the 2016 recruiting class’ early enrollees and who the Georgia Bulldogs want to become this season. It will also give a sneak peek into how the defensive-minded Kirby Smart will run his team.

The Georgia football Juniors and Seniors who are entering the draft will have their pro day during this time frame as well. On March 16 NFL scouts will visit campus to watch and evaluate players as they workout in preparation for the upcoming draft, which will be held April 28-30 in Chicago, Illinois.
Eight Georgia players were invited to the NFL Combine last week: defensive end Sterling Bailey, outside linebacker Leonard Floyd, fullback Quayvon Hicks, outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins, running back Keith Marshall, nose tackle Chris Mayes, wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell, and offensive tackle John Theus. Georgia is tied for second in the Southeastern Conference with these selections.
