It’s been an up and down week for Georgia Bulldog fans across the country.
As the finale scrimmage of spring football season fast approached, rumors swirled of a musical act to open the highly publicized event, but earlier this week, those rumors were squashed by Georgia Athletic Director Greg McGarity… or so fans thought.
A little more than 48 hours from kick off, the Georgia Athletic Department announced via Twitter that Ludacris will perform for the G-Day pregame concert.
Media outlets previously speculated that attendance may drop due to the lack of a musical performance to open the game. It is unknown whether Ludacris’ performance will entice more fans to come to Athens for the spring game, now endearingly referred to as 93K Day by head coach Kirby Smart.
Ludacris was not one of the rumored artists who fans originally thought may perform, but this announcement shouldn’t come as a shock. He previously performed in Sanford Stadium back in April of 2013 alongside Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan.
